The hotel is located at the dry side of an old river bank, a quick cross and you´re walking in the very center of Malaga in about 10 minutes. The bar outside allows a respite from the tourist craze of the center. The hotel let us know in advance they were renovating and we were pleasantly surprised there was no noise of maintenance. The staff was efficient and friendly. Shopping mall and Train-Bus stations are very closely located.
The room was well lit, clean and modernly decorated. It is my second Ibis in less than one month in two different countries and they keep same standards.

The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and youll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

I had no idea that Malaga was such a beautiful city as I've only been to the airport in the past. This time however, we had the chance to drive through the city centre and admire the vibrance and the architecture of our surroundings. I would have loved to have stayed longer. Our Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro overnight stay was perfect as usual for a Parador with breathtaking veiws of the city. Highly recommended.

Malaga is a fabulous city.
Malaga is a fabulous city. Take a taxi from the bottom of Calle Larios up to the Parador Gibralfaro for lunch and then walk back down to the Alcazabar, which is a MUST visit. It’s a smaller version of the Alhambra.
A walk around the port area is nice and then the historic centre of the city has a wonderful atmosphere.
Don’t forget to visit the Picasso museum and the cathedral.

There is a lot to see and do in Malaga and a plethora of places to go on day trips from there. I took a day trip to the white villages of Nerja, Frigaliana, and the lost village of El Acebuchal. It was a great trip with lots of beautiful views and photo opportunities. I would highly recommend visiting the white villages while in Malaga if you have the time.
Walking around Malaga is very easy, so skip the hop on - hop off bus, unless you have physical limitations.
Definitely try the espetos de sardina, fire roasted in a boat - an excellent Malaga traditional dish that makes me wish I could get fresh sardines where I live. I truly enjoyed them at Rocamar at San Andres beach, with a Rocamar salad with tuna and a glass of Tinto de Verano.

Excellent location for tourists.
Excellent location for tourists. All places of interest walkable.
Hotel good - in city centre but quiet location. Bath too narrow for some people. Shower OK. Needed a mirror over dressing table instead of opposite the window where it was unusable. The TV could then be mounted higher on the wall. Hotel breakfast good - plenty of choice. Roof terrace bar with snacks was a bonus.
The hotel was ideally located for exploring Malaga's old town. The rooftop bar was open until 01:00, which was great as we were able to get a drink and a first view of the city even though we arrived on a late flight after midnight. There was also a sundeck and small pool on the roof where we could relax after a day's sightseeing. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. There was a wide variety of restaurants and bars in easy reach for the evenings.
The Picasso is a very small boutique hotel, which is very quiet. We took the bus into Malaga most days. Buses are regular and very cheap. There is a good beach and excellent churringuitos (beach bars) within 5 minutes walk, selling great food. I would highly recommend the hotel for people who want easy access to the historic centre of Malaga without being in the middle of all the hustle and bustle
This was my third visit to this hotel and had a very large double room with a balcony, with good views of the city. As always the room was clean and comfortable, and the location is ideal for visiting both the old and new parts of Malaga, with neither being more than a 5 minute walk away. The marina area although not close to the hotel was only a 10 minute (maximum) walk away through the old town.
Located close to the beach and had free parking in the street. Spacious apartment with lots of rooms and beds. Clean kitchen and shower. We really liked the nearby Huelin neighborhood for food and drinks with the locals instead of the touristy old town. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They offered us to stay longer and also to take us to the airport for our flight home.
Fantastic place in Malaga, helpful host, easy access, no time wasting with check-in / check-out.
Quiet neighbourhood, all appliances working and existing which are needed for a short/long stay.
Absoulutely fantastic location to explore old town.
If I come back - I come back here and recommend for others not to spend money for the hotels, but come to these apartments.
Extremely friendly and flexible meeting for keys service. All the different details and facilities available were explained to us on arrival. The apartment is new and beautifully presented and equipped. Walking distance to Malaga old town and amazing design and furniture, based on our previous visits experience it was comparable to the best hotels in Malaga.
Great hotel in a central location just next to the port of Malaga. Wonderfully warm welcome, and rooms were extremely comfortable. Fantastic rooftop terrace serving delicious cocktails. Considering the locality, it was really quiet at night. We could easily walk into the old town, shops and to many bars and restaurants from the hotel. Highly recommended
We got into Malaga late evening and we had a long drive to our destination. We decided to stay the night close to the airport. This Hotel was a close drive and their kitchen was open late, so we enjoyed a pizza and a glass of wine before retiring to a comfortable bed. It did just what we needed. Very pleasant staff
This is a small boutique hotel with outstanding front desk. Irin and Martha went out of their way to help me out. The facility is clean and the location is perfect, only a short walk to the old town, hop on hop off is just around the corner, with tons of restaurants within the vicinity.
The best location in Malaga, in the Old city. But even if you are interested to go to the beach, it takes only couple of minutes from the hotel. Also, city parking is 2 minutes walking from the Hotel. Also, I have to mention...the hotel beds are really really comfortable. :)
Close to it all. Old town, back streets, train station, port, beach, castle, even Malaga C.F stadium. Compact hotel and good value with the authentic back street Spanish city feel. Good guy on reception who gave alot of solid recommendations and things to see.
Perfect location in the old town centre of Malaga :). You can easily walk to all nice places in Malaga from here. The beach will take a 15 min walk. The appartement is simple but good. Everything you need; enough space, nice bed, nice shower and airco!
Hotel location very good, near the station but also only 10 mins walk to the old town and centre. Staff very friendly and helpful and good sized rooms, with comfy beds. Have used this hotel several times and would return when we next go to Malaga.
Loacation is perfect! 20 min walk to the beach, hotel in the heart of old town, all places to visit near, it is saving time, when you have short visit :). Nice roof bar and very deliciuos coctails on the top!
Small hotel in a posh residential neighbourhood. Beautiful garden with nice pool, close to beach and airport. Feels like you are staying in the villa of your wealthy friends who live in Malaga.
We stayed for 24 hours, having flown to Malaga from Ireland and then went on to Granada. The hotel was an ideal bsee to explore the city from by foot. The breakfast amazing and 5 star standard.
Alux Boutique Hotel in Malaga's old town boasts a prime location, a charming ambiance, and a delightful rooftop, providing a pleasant setting for exploration and relaxation.
Close proximity to Malaga old town and amenities. Amazing roof top pool with stunning views over urban city scape of Malaga. First class service throughout the hotel.
Location near old town, cca 5 min to old town, cca 10 to Picasso museo Malaga. Parking in hotel. Outdated design but have all you need. Friendly stuff.
